Woke to a cloudy sky, temps in
the 50s and mud puddles…but no rain! The
rain took a break last night just in time for that last walk to the bathroom
and it started about up again about 2 minutes after we were back in the
trailer. A gentle but steady rain on the
roof of our trailer lulled me to sleep.
It quit sometime during the night but by the looks of the clouds when I
stepped out of the trailer this morning it could start up again soon.
----------
Finished my walk at about 10:30 and headed
straight for the shower…didn’t want to get shut out by ‘the chain’ nor did I
want to hold up the cleaning process.
Walked out of the bathroom door at 11 to find that it was raining. Aghh! Hustled
to the trailer because I didn’t want to dry my hair again…it quit in about 10
minutes only to start up again by the time I stepped out to do the
laundry. I have a feeling it’s going to
be a ‘start and stop’ rain day.

So I wondered who this Bob was and how he
came to have so many traffic cones in his possession. I simply googled Bob’s Barricades and their
website, bobsbarricades.com, popped up.
This is the intro on the site:
Bob's Barricades, Inc. is the
largest privately owned barricade company in the country and one of the largest
in the world. Bob's Barricades, Inc has been
providing temporary traffic control since 1975 under the same ownership of Happy Alter, Owner/Chief
Executive Officer and Alan Chesler, President/Partner with cost-effective, quality products, dedication to
safety, and reliable service.
WHEN PEOPLE THINK OF TISSUES, THEY THINK OF KLEENEX
AND WHEN PEOPLE THINK OF BARRICADES THEY THINK OF BOB'S BARRICADES
Happy Alter, CEO/ Owner partner
When I looked through the product section of the website I see that they can supply any type of
construction traffic control item I might need for my next road construction project. 😏 And I already know that when I see barricades in the future I’ll be looking for the
Bob’s Barricades sticker. No mention of
Bob on the website, though. 😕

Our friends from Boyne City, Bryan and Linda
Shumaker, are staying in Tubac, AZ, for a couple of months. Bryan is a doctor who also happens to be
Kim’s astrophotography mentor. I can’t
even begin to list his accomplishments in the area of space knowledge…I’ll just
say that he’s a really smart guy.
Anyway, he was giving a presentation tonight to an astronomy club in
Green Valley…we drove down to have supper with them, go to his talk and then
spend the night at their home away from home.
Good times with good people!👍
----------
The rain continued to be off and on all the
way to Green Valley, then became pretty much on from about 5 p.m. onward. The forecast shows that the rain should tape
off some time in the wee hours of the morning with tomorrow bringing on
the sun again. Most people around here
are complaining about the weather and while it’s not fun to be cooped up inside, it’s sure a lot
better than snow!!
