Saturday, February 22...Shitty Golfer (Toby Keith)

Out of the house by 9:15, ready to hit some golf balls.  That’s right...golf balls.  It was our Christmas present from Ezra and Anna...a home cooked meal and a game of Top Golf.  Top Golf is visible from highway 69 just before exiting to 465 in Indianapolis. I’d seen it many times on my travels through to Kentucky and Tennessee and simply thought it was a weird spot for a 3-tiered driving range.  Well, Top Golf is a bit more than a basic driving range; it’s a fun combination of golf and bowling...which seems to be a popular place as it’s very busy every time I pass by it. And today it was busy already at 9:45 a.m.   We were on the third tier and it took some of us (okay, it was mostly me) longer to get in the groove of actually hitting the golf ball so it went out rather than just up and then down...hmmm, I wonder if I’d have done better on a lower tier. 😏 It was just the right thing to start off our winter getaway!

After lunch we hit the road for Louisville...had a supper date with the Kentucky WonderKids and their parents.  The kids were simply told that they were heading to Louisville for a super doper fun treat...and a joyous kind of hell broke loose when they saw us standing in the parking lot. Such excitement for everyone!!  First thing Dylan told me was that in 4 days he and Clayton were having a birthday and that they were going to be 5 years old as he held up his hand with all fingers extended for emphasis!  I quickly did some mental math and realized that yes, their birthday is only 4 days away.  Good thing I included their birthday present in the box with their Christmas presents.

Ate supper, took a group photo, gave hugs and kisses and then we headed west while the KY Bakkers headed home.  We are officially on our way to Arizona now.  I’ve had it in my head to make one more stop along the way because drive, drive, drive can oso tedious.  It’s fun to stop and see and it’s good to stretch the leg muscles on a long drive.
We had plans on driving a distance then stopping and just crawling back into the trailer to sleep; however, the temperature is reading a chilly 37o.  Will probably put those plans on hold.  Not so anxious to freeze in my sleep.
